SLEEPS 6 - 3 bedrooms - 1 bathroom - large living room/dining area - conservatory - enclosed garden

Hill View House is a spacious 3 bed property.

The main entrance to the house brings you onto the 1st floor of the property. Here there are 3 bedrooms. The spacious master room has a king-size bed, fireplace (for effect only) and views from 3 sides of the property. Both the double and twin room both have amazing views out of the back of the property over the fells. The bathroom is newly decorated and has a p-shaped bath with shower above. The upstairs corridor and stairs to the ground floor are beautiful stained wooden floors.

The ground floor is comprised of a kitchen, living room, dining area and conservatory. The living room/ dining area is a large open plan space with an exposed stone feature wall, multifuel stove and modern decor. There are French windows which open out onto the garden which makes the room light. The kitchen has a rayburn which is fully usable, or an electric fan oven with hob should you wish to use an alternative. The garden is fully enclosed and has patio furniture.

Hill View House is set on a hill (hence its name) which provides spectacular views over the fells. Stunning cottage in a beautiful location

A stunning cottage in a beautiful location. Walks from the doorstep, glorious sunshine, great food in the village and we even had a deer trot by the front door! The cottage itself is decorated to a very high standard, everything you would need to relax and unwind. Would certainly recommend to anybody looking for a family getaway!

The perfect country cottage set in an idyllic countryside setting

Our first visit to Hill View House and I'm sure it wont be our last. Set into the hillside, the views are spectacular from every window. The garden is sunny and sheltered an even in the chill of the Autumn we were able to have coffee outside. The silence is golden, broken only by the bleating of the sheep and the occasional tractor trundling by. The house is warm and cosy, with the treat of a real fire and beautifully finished throughout with quality furnishings and super comfy beds. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. We will be back!

A Tanquil Haven in Stunning Surroundings

I stayed at Hill View House with my 4 year old child and my mum and it really was a wonderful 'get away from it all' break in beautiful countryside. Driving out of the village and up the hill, the house is perched on a corner as the road levels out and we appreciated the parking right outside the gate - and entering the house at bedroom level meant very easy depositing of luggage! The house is airey and bright, and it is lovely and clean with new carpets and beautiful wooden floors - and it's really spacious. If we visited with more family we'd really appreciate the big dining table (comfy dining chairs were a nice touch) and the option to eat at the kitchen breakfast bar. The French doors onto the really pretty cottage garden meant that we could have a lazy breakfast, looking out over the valley - the views are stunning! Beds are comfy with beautiful fresh bedlinen. The bathroom appeared to be newly fitted and it was great to have the option of a bath or a shower. We ventured out both near and far - we found great walks down the valley and along the river (which is nice for paddling and finding chunks of purple fluorspar - which I think is from the tin mine up the hill) and the village is handy for stopping off for an ice lolly, coffee, lunch or a drink at the pub. There are so many places to visit too - from Hamsterley Forest (we walked but it looked great for cycling) to Bowes Museum which we visited - it's in Barnard Castle which is a pretty small town with fantastic independent shops, a castle and a nice riverside. All in all we had a wonderful stay, mixing rural chill out moments with doing a few touristy things too. Thoroughly recommended and we hope to visit again soon!
