Plumbum Cottage is situated in a pretty upper Weardale village with good amenities. This fabulous property has been lovingly furnished, and with stunning views over the rolling countryside from the house and garden. It is ideal for couples, families or small groups.
This beautiful cottage really does feel like a home from home. Step into the living room, which has been tastefully decorated and cosy up in front of the mutifuel stove set in a stone fireplace. There are books, a TV and DVD player to keep you entertained when you are ready to relax after making the most of what this amazing area and the spectacular countryside has to offer.
The living room leads off into the kitchen/diner, with the stairs to the 1st floor on the right.
The modern and light kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to be able to cook meals and you will find a little welcome gift to help you settle into the cottage. Tea, coffee, sugar and basic condiments are supplied. The kitchen is centred around a large dining table with space for everyone to sit and chat or on nicer days you can head out into the garden and make the most of the fresh country air.
Upstairs, the beautifully decorated, modern and sophisticated master bedroom comfortably sleeps 2 in a king bed and a further 2 guests are accommodated in a double bedroom. All bed linen provided is anti-allergen. The family bathroom has both a bath and shower, finished with black and white tiles.
There is off road parking for one car to the rear of the property with additional street parking.

Plumbum Cottage is located in St John’s Chapel, Weardale. Although in Country Durham the location is close to the borders of Cumbria and Northumberland making this an ideal base to get out and explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Within walking distance of the cottage there are 2 pubs, one of which serves food, a post office with tea room, a café and Co-op, making it ideally placed for those who need to use public transport or want to stay local to St Johns Chapel. Local buses in the area are operated by Weardale travel.
For those who want to embrace the outdoors, you can begin many walks or cycle routes from the doorstep and the Weardale Activity Centre is a 2 minute car journey or a 10 minute walk from the cottage. The North of England Lead Mining Museum at Killhope is a five minute drive from the cottage, and is worth a visit giving you an insight into the lead mining era with underground tours.
