Garden House B & B is situated near the centre of Alston. It has 2 ensuite B & B rooms in total, both which have TV's (Freeview) and Wi-Fi. Room one is a good sized carpeted room with space to hang clothes in the built in wardrobe. The room can be set up as a twin or a double depending on the guests’ requirements, has a kettle and selection of hot drinks for your comfort and the ensuite has a bath with a shower above.
Breakfast is provided and served in the dining room. This room is for shared use and can be used throughout your stay, it has an electric fire for those colder evenings and a TV and stereo system. Guests also have access to a communal kitchenette throughout their stay which contains a sink, fridge, microwave, kettle & toaster, crockery and cutlery and washing facilities including a washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board (washing power is provided).

Outside is a small fully enclosed courtyard decorated with flowers, it is secure and gated, meaning there is space for you to store motorcycles and bicycles and parking for 2 cars. The courtyard has seating for those warmer days, breakfast can even be served her if you prefer. There is additional parking free throughout Alston town.

Pets are welcome with prior notification - room 2 is best suited to pets as this room is not carpeted, we ask if this room is available that you book room 2 when attending with pets.

Local Information
Alston is the highest market town in England and boast good local amenities. It has many independent shops, eateries, cafes and pubs, including Saddlers Baker which makes fresh bread and baked goods from scratch, Alston House which serves delicious home cooked meals made using locally sourced produce and the Cane workshop which sells award winning Jams and Chutneys. From the outdoor clothing shop, where you can stock up on supplies to the fish and chip shop where you can grab a tasty treat, there is plenty to do in Alston.
The area is close to the borders of Durham, Northumberland and is a gateway into the Lake District making this an ideal base to get out and explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Killhope Lead Mining Museum, the South Tyne Railway and Yad Moss Ski Slope are some amazing local attraction to name just a few. For those who enjoy the outdoors, walking and cycling, the Pennine Way and Coast to Coast Route runs right through Alston. The rolling countryside with unspoiled panoramic views of moorland is home to an abundance of wildlife and some amazing natural beauties including Ashgill waterfall.

Directions
• Travel the main A689 into Alston and take a left turning if travelling from Hexham direction and a right if travelling from Penrith/Carlisle direction, up the main street
• At the Market Cross (market square located half way up the main street on the left), take the left turning directly behind it past the Turks Head pub.
• Follow the road round and take the second left down the narrow lane
• Drive straight ahead at the cross roads
• Garden House B & B is situated straight ahead (where the road starts to bear left) and has a pale green double gate and a Pennine Country Cottages sign to the left.
