Lea House can be found in the small village of Wearhead in the Upper Wear Valley. This delightful house. Sleeps 4 guests in one double and one twin bedroom. There is a cosy lounge, dining area and a well equipped kitchen. A family bathroom is located on the second floor and utility off the kitchen.
There is a delightful walled garden to the front of the property with views of the stunning countryside.
Pets are accepted but prior arrangement must be made for this - maximum of 2 dogs (an extra cleaning charge of £20 will apply).
Lea House is located at Wearhead in the upper Weardale Valley. The house is in an ideal location to the borders of Cumbria and Northumberland making this a perfect base to get out and explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. If you are a walker or cyclist you will be in your element as there are many walks and cycle routes on the doorstep. The property is a few minutes’ walk to the Cowshill Hotel an old fashioned public house. The village of St Johns Chapel is a 10 minute drive down the dale where you can source your daily amenities from the village co-op, there is also a post office with tea room, a café and 2 pubs one of which serves food. The North of England Lead Mining Museum at Killhope is a ten minute drive from the cottage, well worth a visit giving you an insight into the lead mining era with underground tours.
