Lea House is located at Wearhead in the upper Weardale Valley. The house is in an ideal location to the borders of Cumbria and Northumberland making this a perfect base to get out and explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. If you are a walker or cyclist you will be in your element as there are many walks and cycle routes on the doorstep. The property is a few minutes’ walk to the Cowshill Hotel an old fashioned public house. The village of St Johns Chapel is a 10 minute drive down the dale where you can source your daily amenities from the village co-op, there is also a post office with tea room, a café and 2 pubs one of which serves food. The North of England Lead Mining Museum at Killhope is a ten minute drive from the cottage, well worth a visit giving you an insight into the lead mining era with underground tours.
The cottage is situated on the main A689 which runs through Weardale. When you enter the village of Wearhead, drive over the bridge, up the main street and the cottage can be found on your right opposite the small primary school, the postcode is DL13 1JD
