This cosy cottage has a double bedroom, bathroom room, fully equipped kitchen and snug living room with log burning stove. Relax in the small conservatory on summer evenings within the enclosed garden. There are stunning panoramic views with country walks directly from the cottage.
Pets are welcome with prior notification

The nearby village of St John’s Chapel is approximately 1.5 miles away and has a Coop store, a Post Office, a Town Hall with a gym and cinema,
The towns of Hexham, Carlisle, Newcastle, Durham and Darlington can all be reached in around an hour. The area has many outdoor pursuits such as walking (Pennine Way), cycling (coast to coast), horse riding and places of interest and museums of local history.

Directions
From Alston drive up the main street turning left onto the A689, Nenthead road. Continue through Nenthead and down into Weardale, drive to Ireshopeburn and after the Weardale Outdoor Centre take a left to Newhouse, drive up the hill and you will see a garage and open space on your left, you are welcome to stop here and unload your car, the cottage is down the stone flag path on your left. There is space beside the cottage for a small car however there is further parking just up the road from the cottage on the right just past the stone candle house, please drive in through the gate and park (you will be greeted by our friendly chickens).
From the A1 proceed along the A68 towards the North Pennines until you reach the A689 signposted “Weardale North Pennines” join this road and travel west through various villages for approx 18 miles until you pass through the village of St John’s Chapel. Pass the Weardale Museum; take a right turn over the bridge and up the hill and you will see a garage and open space on your left, you are welcome to stop here and unload your car, the cottage is down the stone flag path on your left. The parking is just up the road from the cottage on the right just past the stone candle house, please drive in through the gate and park (you will be greeted by our friendly chickens).
