SLEEPS 11 - 5 bedrooms - 3 bathrooms 

Located in the stunning North Pennines, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and with views across the Alston Moor, the South Tyne River and Railway, Whitlow is perfect for a family get together or time away with friends. 


This beautiful former farmhouse, which sleeps 11, has recently been refreshed giving the decor a modern and fresh look.


The ground floor boasts a large well equipped kitchen which flows in the dining room, both which have dining tables, so there is plenty of space to eat and entertain, a living room with plenty of seating, a beautiful decorative fireplace and a TV, a utility room with both a washing machine and dryer and 2 shower rooms with toilets.   


Upstairs there are five bedrooms and a family bathroom which both have a bath and shower. Three are doubles, and two of these have an additional single beds. There’s also a twin bedroom and one single room.


Whitlow farmhouse it is in the perfect spot for touring and exploring the area with many public footpaths and cycle routes right on the doorstep, not to mention the unspoilt panoramic views of moorland and an abundance of wildlife.


Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement - additonal charge of £25 per stay, a dog cage will be provided, no dogs are allowed upstairs (Please enquire if bringing more than 3 dogs)

Local Information

Alston is the highest market town in England and boast good local amenities. It has many independent shops, eateries, cafes and pubs, including Saddlers Baker which makes fresh bread and baked goods from scratch, Alston House which serves delicious home cooked meals made using locally sourced produce and the Cane workshop which sells award winning Jams and Chutneys. From the outdoor clothing shop, where you can stock up on supplies to the fish and chip shop where you can grab a tasty treat, there is plenty to do in Alston. 

The area is close to the borders of Durham, Northumberland and is a gateway into the Lake District making this an ideal base to get out and explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Killhope Lead Mining Museum, the South Tyne Railway and Yad Moss Ski Slope are some amazing local attraction to name just a few. For those who enjoy the outdoors, walking and cycling, the Pennine Way and Coast to Coast Route runs right through Alston. The rolling countryside with unspoiled panoramic views of moorland is home to an abundance of wildlife and some amazing natural beauties including Ashgill waterfall.
