A stunning conversion from an old barn into a luxurious holiday cottage. Situated in a peaceful location where you can enjoy the wildlife and riverside walks along the Weardale Way from the doorstep.
The cottage sleeps 6 adults comfortably in 3 large double rooms and 2 bathrooms on the first floor. There is an additional bedroom on the first floor with 1 single bed & bunk bed and the snug on the ground floor which has a double sofa bed and adjoining shower room. Extra guests are welcome at an additional charge, please ring to book.
The cosy "snug" sitting room (which also doubles as an extra bedroom) is a lovely room to relax and enjoy a good book, there is a large family kitchen, dining and living space with seating around the log burning stove, the kitchen is fully equipped with large dining table and picture windows with views across the to the stables, river and stunning unspoilt countryside beyond.
Dogs are welcome however this is at an additional charge of £10.00 x 1 dog & £20 x 2 dogs
A £100 deposit is due on your day of arrival to the owner via cheque or cash.

Eastgate is a pretty rural village in upper Weardale which is served by a local pub serving real ales and bar meals where Gerry and Elaine will give you a warm welcome.
The village has many country and riverside walks and is close to the market town of Stanhope which has a visitors centre- http://www.durhamdalescentre.co.uk/ and a host of cafes and craft shops, takeaway food and a further selection of pubs for real ales and food. Stanhope offers great access for a variety of outdoor activities from walking to cycling and has the Weardale Railway allowing you the opportunity to take in the magnificent unspoilt views down the valley.
The village of St Johns Chapel is a 10 minute drive up the dale where you can source your daily amenities from the village co-op, there is also a post office with tea room, a café and 2 pubs one of which serves food. The North of England Lead Mining Museum at Killhope is a twenty minute drive from the cottage well worth a visit giving you an insight into the lead mining era with guided underground tours.
Durham is the nearest city and has many attractions including a castle, cathedral and a whole host of activities to be enjoyed by all of the family, only a 30 minute drive from the cottage, click on the link for a full list of attractions.
Newcastle can also be reached in approximately 30 minutes, visit the word famous Sage, walk along the historic quayside and over the Blinking eye bridge to the Baltic centre for contemporary art or visit the many shops, eateries and bars.

Travel the main A689 into Weardale
Through Stanhope up to Eastgate
Take a right at the bus stop before the Cross Keys pub and drive up the lane past the houses, keep going up the lane, you will see a sign for the farm on your right, as you drive up the lane you will pass a house on your right, continue until you reach the farm and park in the yard in front of the barn. You should see a Pennine Country Cottage sign displayed.
