UPDATE 17th October 2020

The Government have introduced a 3 tier system in response to the rising rates of Covid-19 in the UK.

We have cottages based in the Cumbria, Northumberland and Country Durham area which fall under 2 different tiers.

Tier 1 (medium risk) - Cumbria:

  • National restrictions continue to be in place.
  • You must not socialise in groups larger than 6, indoors or outdoors (other than where a legal exemption applies)

Tier 2 (high risk) - Northumberland and Country Durham:

  • Some additional restrictions are in place
  • You must not socialise with anybody outside of your household or support bubble in any indoor setting, whether at home or in a public place
  • You must not socialise in a group of more than 6 outside, including in a garden or other spaces like beaches or parks (other than where specific exemptions apply in law)

If you are travelling from a Tier 3 a (very high risk area) the Government advice is not to travel outside of the area other than for work, childcare or education, and we recommend you make alternative arrangements to your booking to prevent the spread of Covid-19 to lower risk areas.

Please check the local Covid-19 lock down restriction for the area you are looking to stay before booking, on the direct gov and the local council website to ensure your trip and your guests comply with the local regulations. If you are unsure please contact us for advice by emailing or calling 01434 381 808.

We will continue to update guests on a rolling basis if your booking is affected, please see the options which we have available to you below.

If your booking is affected there are a number of options we can offer.

  • 1)Change the makeup of the guests within your group to ensure they meet the local lock down regulations
  • 2)Arrange alternative holiday dates
  • 3)Request a credit voucher – this will be for the total you have paid to date and can be redeemed from your next stay (voucher is valid for a year from your original booking dates)
  • 4)If you booked via a 3rd party agency we must follow their cancellation policy however we can offer alternative holiday dates

Please contact us by email at or call 01434 381 808 to discuss your booking

Kind regards
